Technology Replicates Nature with Teeth Veneers

Veneers ChicagoPorcelain veneers are simply wafer-thin shells which are designed to act as a cover or even a blanket for your teeth's surface. What is the point of this "blanket," you ask? These veneers can actually make your smile as sparkling and as perfect as diamonds. With these superb shells, your teeth can take on a completely different colors, size, shape, and even length just as you take on a completely different smile.

These blankets for your teeth are actually made of a thin layer of porcelain which happens to be a ceramic or glass type of material. No, there's no need to worry about having glass or ceramic in your mouth, after all the veneer is just as thick as a contact lens or your finger nail. Water is added to the raw materials to make a sticky plastic substance. This is then molded in a way which will bring your teeth the perfection which it craves for. The material is not only strong and tough, but also tooth-colored. Certain bonding agents and cements are used too, to give veneers plenty of longevity.

Veneers are ideal for teeth which have been discolored or those which are worn. Also, if you've recently been in a fist fight, fallen off your bicycle and your teeth have broken or chipped off, porcelain veneers are the ultimate solution! On the other hand, if you were born with rabbit teeth, a pirate's smile or simply possess some crookedness or gaps related to either or both your teeth and smile, porcelain veneers can fix them in no time.

But why opt for porcelain veneers instead of some other solutions? Porcelain veneers have numerous advantages.

The prime advantage of porcelain veneers is that absolutely no one will actually know that you are wearing "tooth covers," unless of course you tell them.

Porcelain veneers can take your teeth and smile to a completely new level of perfection without destroying the natural appearance of your teeth.

It is very unlikely that you will have any post-veneer problems as gum tissue works well with porcelain.

You also need not worry about any stains or "blotches" on your teeth as veneers are completely stain resistant.

The perfection provided by veneers is beyond just straightening teeth, but they can also "whiten" dark teeth too.

Lastly, veneers do not require any extensive shaping procedures beforehand, as is the case with other options such as crowns. In fact, veneers are not only stronger but have much more aesthetic value too.

As cool as they may seem, porcelain veneers are not "magical" or anything "supernatural."

Although veneers are unlikely to chip or crack, in case they do, they cannot be repaired.

Veneers are nearly "impossible" to see but this does not mean that they will be in sync with the color of your other teeth; if you are planning on whitening your teeth, do it beforehand.

Veneers cannot be dislodged, but this does not mean that you can continue to bite your nails, chew on hard objects or put unimaginable amounts of pressure on your teeth; do not put your veneers to any dislodgement tests.

While veneers may be "universally suitable," they are certainly not the best thing for people who have a bad track record with their teeth such as unhealthy teeth with decay or active gum disease, weakened teeth or even enamel-deficient teeth.

Veneers don't provide a good excuse for teeth grinding or even clenching teeth, as the covers may chip or crack.

It is important to remember than veneers do not provide ways to try out different stunts with your teeth. Other than that, with some porcelain veneers, you can smile, smile and keep smiling without even a single worry!
