Are you living with painful, loose, rotten, or missing teeth?
Many times, it becomes a vicious cycle. You're embarrassed and in pain because your teeth are bad. You're afraid of being criticized by a dentist, and subjected to painful, lengthy treatment. The worse your teeth get, the more apprehensive you get. It's time to stop the cycle, and fix your smile – and no, it's nothing to be concerned about. Let us answer some of your questions, with a simple explanation of the process.
Step one: Consultation
. Don't worry, we won't judge or lecture you. We aren't high school principals; we are in the business of smiles. It doesn't matter how your teeth came to be in dire condition – we just want to help. We'll start with an examination, and then explain your options. Sometimes, dentures aren't even needed, because many damaged teeth are savable. If it's too late to save them, we will begin the process of making you a brand new smile.
Step two: Extractions
. If your teeth are already gone, we can skip this step. If any need to be pulled, we will ensure you are completely comfortable, and use gentle techniques for speedy healing.
Step three: Implants
. This step is optional, but implants are a wonderful upgrade to dentures. It only takes a few to support a denture, and you'll never have to worry about your teeth slipping and sliding around or falling out at the most inopportune time. To most people's surprise, the procedure and recovery are typically no more uncomfortable than extractions.
Step four: Design
. Whether you are getting full or partial, traditional or implant supported dentures, designing them is one of the most important steps. You will appreciate the dedication and talent of the Big Smile Dental team, from taking precise impressions for a perfect fit, to shaping each tooth for optimal beauty and natural appearance.
Step five: Dentures
. How long will you have to wait for your new teeth?
That depends on the type of denture. If you choose immediate dentures, they are designed before the extractions, so you get them the same day. For the conventional method, they will be designed and delivered after your gums heal.
Step six: Smile!
This is our favorite part of the process, and we're sure it will be yours. When your new teeth are in your mouth, you can look in the mirror and smile – and smile, and smile. Many patients tell us they can't walk by a mirror without admiring their new teeth.
